Tim and Janie Elwes are a couple who have undertaken something of a grand tour of their own. After Tim was brought up very close by in Burgh and Janie not too further afield in Northamptonshire, they met in the French Alpes 1990s. Marriage (in Northamptonshire) was followed by the decision to move to France to first manage and then own and run what the couple swiftly turned into one of the most popular ski hotels in the Alpine resort of Courchevel 1850. Twelve years and three sons later, it was time to return to their roots and settle again in the county that remains their first love. Lucky enough to find in the Saracen’s Head an opportunity to make the most of all their experience and enthusiasm, Tim and Janie have worked hard and spared nothing in the effort to make the inn today as uniquely special as it was in 1806.
